Reassuringly, the Bank of England believes UK banks are strong enough to survive a disorderly Brexit. But a period of market turmoil is likely to be unavoidable.

According to Mike Cherry, national chairman of the Federation of Small Businesses, the impact of this could be restricted lending to small businesses: “A chaotic no-deal Brexit would cause a significant shock to small business finance markets. When times are hard for banks, lending to small firms often goes out the window as institutions flock to safe havens – we saw that in the wake of the financial crash.”

So, is now the time to put more investment into areas that will help drive business in the short and long term?

Review your marketing strategy

This could be an ideal time to review past marketing successes and failures.

A starting point for this is often your website. By analysing your website traffic in detail, key metrics can be used to reveal your strengths and weaknesses.
